Solution:
Longometer with laser light barriers.
Laser light barriers are mounted in fixed positions. By adding active barrier offsets and the actual measured length you receive the overall length. The accuracy increases, because the measurement error depends on the measured length, and this value is reduced by the light barrier arrangement. For
